DWAYNE JOHNSON taps his softer side in the new big-screen comedy 'Get Smart,' and the former WWE wrestler tells ET what it was like to kiss STEVE CARELL onscreen!

"That's the length I'd go as a committed actor," says Johnson, adding with his trademark smirk, "Steve, for some reason, just wanted to do take after take after take after take."

In theaters June 20, 'Get Smart' stars Carell as Maxwell Smart, a secret agent who has always dreamt of working in the field alongside stalwart superstar Agent 23 (Johnson) and gets his chance when their headquarters are compromised by the evil agency KAOS. And in the course of the plot, Carell and Johnson get to plant quite the smooch on each other!

So, how many takes were required to get it right?

"We got it on one take, but he wanted 15, 16, 17 takes," jokes Johnson, adding, "When you have chronic halitosis, mints don't do anything."

Also starring ANNE HATHAWAY as Agent 99, ALAN ARKIN as the Chief and TERENCE STAMP as the KAOS head baddie, Siegfried, 'Get Smart' is directed by 'The Longest Yard' helmer PETER SEGAL.
