"Dexter" adds a new cast member.
JIMMY SMITS segues from CBS's cancelled "Cane" to Showtime's hit series, "Dexter," about a serial killer who works for the Miami PD as a blood-spatter expert. Smits is onboard for a 10-episode arc as he hooks up with Dexter (MICHAEL C. HALL) to track down a murderer whose actions have personally affected both of their lives.
Smits, who played an attorney on "L.A. Law," will be playing a district attorney this time around. His character, Miguel Prado, hails from one of Miami's most politically powerful families and has risen in the DAs office as a result of his strong stance on crime.
"Dexter" returns for its third season this fall.
