KATHERINE HEIGL's former "Grey's Anatomy" co-stars are going on the record with ET about her decision to remove herself from Emmy contention because of being given material she didn't feel was worthy of Emmy consideration.
Former co-star ISAIAH WASHINGTON, no stranger to controversy himself, spoke candidly about the situation. "It's unfortunate that what is happening is happening. I understand both sides, I was there. I know exactly where everyone's coming from."
Washington said he called "Grey's" creator SHONDA RHIMES when the news broke. "I've reached out and said, look, whatever I can do to help out, I'm open to it."
KATE WALSH, who appeared on a few episodes of "Grey's" this past season and is the star of the "Grey's" spin-off, "Private Practice," feels differently about the writers on her current show. "All I know is I think that they're, it's an amazing show and amazing writers, and I love going to work everyday."
Katherine will be back at work when "Grey's" goes into production June 25th, with no word yet as to whether or not she will attend this year's Emmys in September.
