Will the star regain control of her estate?
Will BRITNEY SPEARS' conservatorship be discontinued, extended or perhaps even made permanent? According to new court papers obtained by ET, an all-day trial exploring the matter is set to take place on July 31.
The minutes for Tuesday's hearing regarding the conservatorship over the pop star's estate -- which the L.A. Superior Court placed in the hands of her father JAMIE SPEARS and lawyer ANDREW WALLET -- state that July's trial will take place in two sessions: The morning session will address financial issues surrounding the arrangement, while the afternoon session will examine the conservatorship itself.
Combined, the sessions will be used to determine if the current arrangement should be extended, or to set a hearing or trial regarding a permanent conservatorship, if one is ruled necessary.
Recently, Jamie filed a court declaration detailing the time he spent on helping Britney between February 1 and March 3, 2008. The declaration was made in support of a petition asking the court to award him replacement compensation.
