Cutie DAVID ARCHULETA and the rest of the most recent "American Idol" Top 10 were rehearsing for the "Pop-Tarts Presents American Idol Live! Tour 2008," when ET dropped by their session to chat with this season's runner-up.

Archie jokes with ET that he will be taking his toothbrush, clothes, Chapstick® -- and his phone on the tour, which begins on July 1 in Glendale, Arizona and wraps on Sept. 13 in Tulsa, OK. He shares that he is a text messaging champ -- and that is how he stays in touch with his friends back home in Utah.

As for his new album, he says, "It will be a pop album, but, hopefully, I will fit some soul in. I want it to have a maturity to it."
