Disney/Pixar's 'WALL-E' lands in theaters on this planet June 27, and highly recognizable Earthlings from Hollywood and beyond -- from Brad Garrett and Sigourney Weaver to "American Idol" runner-up David Archuleta and "Dancing with the Stars" champ Kristi Yamaguchi -- came out to experience the film, which premiered under the stars Saturday night at The Greek Theatre in L.A.'s Griffith Park.
Written and directed by Andrew Stanton (the man responsible for the box office big fish 'Finding Nemo') 'WALL-E' introduces the world to an irresistible new animated character and features innovative sound design by Academy Award winner Ben Burtt, who created the "voice" of R2-D2.
Featuring the voices of Jeff Garlin, Fred Willard, John Ratzenberger, Kathy Najimy and Ben Burtt, 'WALL-E' (which stands for Waste Allocation Load Lifter--Earth Class) tells the story of a curious little robot that is programmed to help clean up the huge amount of waste mankind has left behind. He also happens to be the last working robot left on Earth. When EVE, a highly advanced robot, returns to recover the last plant left on the planet, WALL-E sets out on a romantic adventure that is, well, out of this world.
