Tom Brokaw steps up.

Highly respected news anchor Tom Brokaw will take over duties for the late Tim Russert on "Meet the Press" through at least the end of the 2008 presidential election, reports Variety.

NBC news proxy STEVE CAPUS spoke out saying, "To have someone of Tom's stature step up and dedicate himself to ensuring its ongoing success is not only a testament to his loyalty to Tim, but his enduring commitment to NBC News and our viewers."
