As the "American Idol" Top 10 -- pictured here channeling the '70s -- get ready to kick off their tour, the search for the next singing sensation is being planned. Auditions for season eight of the hit FOX series get underway on Thursday, July 17 in San Francisco at the Cow Palace and travel cross country after that -- just like the Pop-Tarts™ summer tour.
For the second time, Activision's Guitar Hero®, the No. 1 best selling video game franchise of 2007, will go coast-to-coast with the American Idols Live! Tour 2008, kicking off in Glendale, Ariz. on July 1. The sponsorship fuses the two pop culture phenomena together for a second time. Concert-goers will be among the first to experience three of the newest Guitar Hero games, the highlight of which will be a sneak-peak video demonstration of Guitar Hero World Tour, which hits shelves this fall. The Top 10 will be part of a halftime Guitar Hero World Tour rockumentary, featured on the new game.
