The star discusses her most controversial hour.
Months after her Vanity Fair pics sparked a decency debate, Miley Cyrus admits the controversy still leaves her feeling abashed.
"I was embarrassed," she tells Billboard, "but also it's like, every career thing that I do can't be perfect, and sometimes my decisions are wrong. I think that just makes me even more relatable.
"I don't think people will look at me any differently because they're like, 'You know what, I'm going to do stupid stuff too, and I'm going to make mistakes, and that's fine.' It still hurts when I think about it -- but you know what, it doesn't mean that you can't move on."
In the spirit of staying strong through those tough teen years, the Disney star is set to unleash a new album said to showcase her more mature side. Breakout is due to hit shelves July 22, according to Billboard, and the disc's first single, "7 Things," is racing up the Hot 100.
Miley is currently filming a big-screen version of "Hannah Montana" in Tennessee.
