No one is more surprised than dreamy Patrick Dempsey that he's launching a new men's cologne with Avon this fall. 

"I can't believe I have a cologne, it's really hysterical -- and people really enjoy it!" he joked at last night's NYC launch party for "Patrick Dempsey Unscripted."

The "Grey's Anatomy" hunk credits his wife, makeup artist and Avon consultant Jillian, with getting him on-board for the fragrance, which launches in November: "I couldn't imagine doing it with anybody else. We worked very closely and I think that's part of the fun. It kind of brought us together as a couple in a lot of ways."

The amateur race-car driver also dug shooting the outdoorsy ad campaign for the scent, which shows him driving a vintage car. "It was a fun shoot to do with the cars, and certainly that's my passion."

"Unscripted" will retail for $32 through www.avon.com and Avon representatives nationwide. Other star Avon partners include Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Conrad.
