The Jenny Craig spokeswoman talks to ET about weight loss, paparazzi, and recent attacks on Kirstie Alley.

Kirstie Alley is not fat. She has not gained back the weight she so famously lost as a Jenny Craig spokesperson. At least not according to Valerie Bertinelli, who tells ET, "I have seen Kirstie and I think she looks terrific."

Valerie, who was targeted by photographers last year when she went to Hawaii halfway through her Jenny Craig weight-loss program, knows what it is like to have unattractive photos hit the Internet and magazines.

"I saw those pictures and they were not flattering," the former "One Day at a Time" star admits, "I remember thinking, 'Why do they care about me?' Then, 'You idiot! You are a spokeswoman for a diet company.'"

She says of the photos of Kirstie that have been surfacing, "I don't know what those photographs might say and I don't necessarily see a lot of them. I have heard of them, but I disagree. When I have been with Kirstie, she looks terrific."

Valerie lost 40 pounds on the Jenny Craig program and she continues to maintain her weight following the company's diet plan. She credits the plan with being the first that not only helped her lose weight, but now helps her maintain the loss.

"I wasn't satisfied a year and a half ago," she admits. "I am now. I am not a size zero. I am never going to be. I am not a two or a four. I am between a six and an eight. In the business that I am in that is heavy, but I am comfortable at this weight. I can move about at a much easier pace than I could when I was 40 pounds heavier. I am not going to be told what I have to weigh by society or by what glamour magazines tell you you have to weigh."

Valerie spoke to ET at a press party for her upcoming Lifetime TV movie, "True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet," premiering Saturday, August 9 at 9 p.m. She plays a family friend, who takes in a superstar teen actress (played Joanna "JoJo" Levesque), whose life has been turned upside down after she passes out from alcohol poisoning at a red-carpet event.

The former child star says she can't say whether or not the story is based on the life of either Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan, but she is okay with the fact that her character – Aunt Trudy -- is not glamorous.

"I am the opposite of glamorous. That is why I like roles like that -- just regular people – people-next-door roles."
