Five reality TV series hosts will take over the reigns at this year's Emmys.

ET has just confirmed: An Emmy surprise: For the first time ever reality stars will be co-hosting the Emmy Awards -- five of them!

"American Idol'"s Ryan Seacrest, "Survivor'"s Jeff Probst, "Dancing with the Stars'" Tom Bergeron, "Deal or No Deal'"s Howie Mandel and "Project Runway'"s Heidi Klum are the chosen five.

"This gives us the opportunity to be very contemporary and current on a show where we also will celebrate the history of the TV Academy and the history of television. It's the best of both worlds," executive producer Ken Ehrlich told the Hollywood Reporter.

But competing for time onstage isn't the only competition for the five, they are also in a face-off for an Emmy Award, as this year a new category was created for Outstanding Reality Show Host and they are the first five to ever be nominated.

"The 60th Primetime Emmy Awards" will be held on Sept. 21 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles and will air on ABC.
