The LAPD confirms to ET that the first call about Shia LaBeouf's car accident was a 911 call placed from a cell phone. 

LaBeouf, 22, was arrested early today on suspicion of drunk driving following a car accident in Hollywood that injured the actor and two others, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman. 

The star of  the blockbuster 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' was the driver of a vehicle involved in a collision at about 2:30 a.m., (Sunday morning) the spokesman tells ET.

LaBeouf and a female passenger in his vehicle were injured in the crash, as was the  woman driving the other car, the Sheriff's spokesman said. The driver of the other car was able to drive away from the scene on her own. 

The actor was arrested for alleged DUI and released to the hospital and underwent surgery on his hand, the Sheriff's spokesman said. His female passenger was treated for minor injuries.

A rep for LaBeouf had no comment on the incident.
