This just in: Morgan Freeman is recovering well after undergoing surgery Monday following a car accident on Sunday in Mississippi.

"Morgan is doing well after surgery last night to reconnect nerves and to repair damage to his left arm and hand ago at the Elvis Presley Memorial Trauma Center at The MED, at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis," his rep tells ET. "The surgery lasted approximately four-and-a-half hours and he is in good spirits and was visiting with family members this morning."

The actor's rep also tells us he was walking around this morning and is looking forward to being released in a few days.
