The Democratic National Convention in Denver is quickly approaching, and all eyes will be fixed on first lady hopeful Michelle Obama. The world may soon be talking about Obama's new running mate, but fashionistas everywhere are wondering, what will the trendsetting Michelle be wearing to the big convention? ET's got the inside scoop from Women's Wear Daily Fashion Editor, Marc Karimzadeh, on his DNC fashion predictions.
According to WWD, Michelle is known for her classic taste and her Jackie O. style. She loves pearls, sheath dresses, and local Chicago designers like Maria Pinto, whose dresses she has worn on her pursuit to the White House.
Marc gives ET his prediction for Michelle's DNC debut Monday: "This is a very important night for Michelle Obama. She obviously wants to make a statement not just with her words but what she will be wearing because everyone's going to be looking at Michelle," he said. "I wouldn't be surprised if she chose a young designer."
WWD predicts that Barack's leading lady will be hitting the spotlight wearing her favorite campaign color -- purple -- and will wear suits in the day and dresses at night.
Look out for Michelle's fashions to dazzle at the DNC Aug. 25-28. Keep checking back to ETonline for continuing DNC coverage!
