The star pals text back and forth about baby news!

Despite being busy doting on his newborn daughter, Matt Damon's been keeping his good pal and 'Good Will Hunting' co-scribe Ben Affleck in the loop with all the latest baby news, says People magazine.

"I've kind of been texting him back and forth, and he's doing great and [wife] Lucy is doing great," Affleck told the mag at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, where he's supporting charitable causes, like playing poker to raise funds for paralyzed veterans, says People.

"Anybody who has a child is excited, I think, no matter what the gender is. They are thrilled," Ben says of Matt and Luciana. "The thing that people really want, when you get down to it, is a healthy child."

Matt and Luciana welcomed their second daughter together, baby Gia Zavala, last week.
