Hours after vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin confirmed to ET that her 17-year-old daughter Bristol was five months pregnant, the New York Post reveals that the reported father-to-be is a high-school hockey player.
The Post says that Levi Johnston, reportedly the young man in question, is a popular student athlete and a self-described "redneck."
The paper claims Johnston supposedly wrote on his MySpace page (it has since been taken down) that he is "in a relationship" adding, "I don't want kids."
The Post adds that the strapping senior, a member of Wasilla High School's hockey team, once played alongside Palin's older brother, Track, in a youth league. New York's Daily News claims that Bristol could often be seen in the stands during games, cheering her man on.
In event devoid of fanfare, the NYDN says that state troopers allegedly busted Johnston last year for fishing king salmon from Alaska's Moose Lake out of season. He allegedly paid $370 in bail, says the paper.
