ET has the latest...

Looks like Ed McMahon is back at square one.

Just weeks after it was confirmed that an anonymous buyer had offered to purchase the TV legend's house -- which was in danger of foreclosure -- sources are now telling ET that the real estate deal has fallen through.

Alex Davis, Ed's real estate agent, tells ET the buyer didn't meet his contractual obligations and that the house fell out of escrow and is now back on the market for $4.6 million.

Earlier last month, Donald Trump told ET that he was also trying to help the beloved star -- will he return to Ed's rescue?

"Mr. Trump remains committed to his earlier commitment to acquire the McMahon property, as well as, to lease it back to Mr. McMahon," Michael D. Cohen, Trump's Special Counsel, tells ET.

"Mr. Trump is continuing to negotiate with the various lenders, as well as, Mr. McMahon's broker. Mr. Trump is confident he will ultimately acquire the property."
