Superstar and former "Idol" conte­stant Jennifer Hudson tells ET's Jann Carl that she made sure to watch "American Idol" while filming her new movie, 'The Secret Life of Bees,' with co-stars Queen Latifah and Alicia Keys.

"Tuesday, Wednesday, I said, 'I don't wanna hear anything, I don't care about anything else!' Every Wednesday, I still get nervous, especially now, watching them. I know exactly how they feel because that's elimination night and they want to win and they want to do well."

After Simon Cowell's critiques, she should be able to handle anything. But the Oscar winner says she recently got stage jitters while singing the national anthem at the Democratic National Convention. She joked that she got dizzy and lightheaded during sound check because the Denver air was so thin, yet still pulled off a knock-out performance! The song is now available on iTunes.

As for 'Bees,' the movie is set in 1964, and focuses on a 14-year-old girl, Dakota Fanning, who moves to a South Carolina town to learn the secrets of her late mother's past. Along the way she meets the Boatwright sisters, played by Latifah, Jennifer and Alicia, who welcome her into their world of bee-keeping.

The Queen Bee herself, Queen Latifah, says with three superstar singers on set, things were always rocking, and she insisted that Jennifer constantly sing requests. "Every day, they were like, 'Sing this, sing something else!'" Jennifer says. "I was like, 'Huh? Am I a jukebox?'"

The other Boatwright sister, Alicia Keys also jokes about her wardrobe malfunction that required 10 pairs of the same pants! She's very excited about being a Bond girl! And the all grown-up Dakota Fanning talks about her on-screen kiss and the controversy behind her film 'Hounddog.'
