Michael Phelps is more than an Olympic hero, he also has a heart of gold.
The sports superstar spent Monday in Burbank, CA with the Boys and Girls Club, answering questions from a room full of adoring fans. But his generosity didn't stop at just giving his time -- he also presented a $1 million donation, on behalf of the Michael Phelps Foundation, to the national organization.
His popularity has proved to runneth over after the games ended. He made an appearance at the VMA's on Sunday and was rushed off to "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" after his day with the kids.
"It's been a long few months of travel. I haven't even been home yet or seen my dog," he told the AP. "But I'm just trying to enjoy all of this. This is fun. I'm having a blast. Every time I make a stop (like this) I have fun, meeting kids, playing some basketball, reaching out to people."
