All-new video: ET's at the premiere of Fernando Meirelles' eerie new film, 'Blindness.' Get an eyeful of the stars of the film -- Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Gael Garcia Bernal and Danny Glover -- as they sizzle up the red carpet!
The film's star Mark Ruffalo tells ET all about what it was like to portray a blind character -- the blind-folded walking sessions, the vision-obstructing contact lenses and more!
"To try to get your eyes to not see anything is a really difficult thing when you spend a lifetime seeing," Ruffalo tells ET.
'Blindness' takes a look at what happens when all of humanity is on the brink of an epidemic of blindness. Ruffalo and Moore play a married couple whose relationship is tested in ways they could have never imagined, when Ruffalo's character becomes instantly blind -- and then one by one each person around him gets infected with a mysterious disease.
Moore plays his wife and is one of the few people who seem to be unaffected by this strange phenomenon. As more and more people become affected by this epidemic, the couple is forced into quarantine with others of the vastly-growing blind population.
Summoning her courage, Moore fakes her own blindness in order to stay with her afflicted husband, and the film follows them and others on a journey of depravity and beauty.
The film is based on the international bestselling novel by Jose Saramago and hits theatres Oct. 3.
