If you thought 'Pirates'' Jack Sparrow was a mad man, wait till you get a load of Johnny Depp's new character in Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland.'

Depp will play the Mad Hatter in Burton's 'Alice,' says the Hollywood Reporter, continuing his string of collaborations with the director which include 'Sweeney Todd,' 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and 'Edward Scissorhands.'

Depp joins Mia Wasikowska (Alice) and sketch-comedy man Matt Lucas (Tweedledee and Tweedledum) in the film, expected out in 2010.
