Sarah Michelle Gellar is planning a return to television, with a half-hour HBO show, says Variety.
The project entitled "The Wonderful Maladys," penned by screenwriter Charles Randolph, follows the lives of three adult siblings who face dysfunction after losing their parents at a young age, says the paper.
Since her hit television show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" stopped production, Gellar has focused on features, but she says she is excited about the new TV project and tells Variety it is "a terrific next chapter for me."
Gellar, who is slated to executive produce the show, will play a character that Randolph describes as having "a kind of zealous immaturity -- like a drug addict with a to-do list."
HBO plans to shoot the show's pilot episode early next year, says the paper.
