Stars Present Their Movie Classics in Hollywood

Imagine seeing 'Silence of the Lambs' and having Jodie Foster introduce the film. How about Keanu Reeves presenting 'The Matrix'? Or Dustin Hoffman there for 'Tootsie'?

Stars, filmmakers and fans flocked to Sunset Blvd. Wednesday night to take part in a special one-night-only American Film Institute event, in which twelve classic American films were screened all at the same time with their respective stars there to present them -- and ET was there!

Target Presents AFI Night at the Movies (12 Classic Films Presented by the Artists Who Made Them on One Extraordinary Night) lined up some extremely impressive talent for a memorable night at the ArcLight Theatres in Hollywood.

Sean Connery presented 'The Man Who Would Be King' (1975); Annette Bening presented 'American Beauty' (1999); Jim Carrey presented 'Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind' (2004); Cameron Diaz presented 'There's Something About Mary' (1998); Jodie Foster presented 'The Silence Of The Lambs' (1991); Dustin Hoffman presented 'Tootsie' (1982); Shirley MacLaine presented 'The Apartment' (1960); Steve Martin presented 'The Jerk' (1979); Rita Moreno presented 'West Side Story' (1961); Mike Myers presented 'Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery' (1997); Keanu Reeves presented 'The Matrix' (1999); and Denzel Washington presented 'Glory' (1989).

ET spoke with the night's most influential film stars, and some of them shared heartfelt words about the late Paul Newman.

"Everything he did was really top notch and class, and he emoted confidence," Jim Carrey said of the film icon's body of work. "It was just brilliant."
