The all-star group covers a bunch of classics live in concert.
You know their famous faces from TV. Now, prepare to experience to the sonic awesomeness that is their music! Band from TV -- featuring Hugh Laurie ("House"), James Denton ("Desperate Housewives"), Greg Grunberg ("Heroes"), Bob Guiney ("The Bachelor") and Bonnie Somerville ("Cashmere Mafia") -- are set to unleash their debut DVD/CD, "Hoggin' All the Covers," on October 28 through Amazon -- and proceeds go to charity!
The live set showcases the all-star group at their finest, playing 13 classic rock 'n' roll hits such as "Piece of My Heart," "Mustang Sally" and "The Letter" before an audience in L.A. The DVD includes never-before-seen footage of rehearsals, candid moments amongst the band members, exclusive interviews and information on the array of charities that will benefit from sales.
How did such a talented crop of TV stars come together to form the band? Greg got the idea to put together a philanthropic super-group after playing drums at a "House of Blues" charity concert, and through a series of acting roles and coincidences, he met Hugh (keyboards), then James (guitar, vocals) and Bob (vocals). Soon after, Bonnie (vocals) joined the group and Band from TV was formed.
"My oldest son has epilepsy and I saw this band as a wonderful vehicle to help raise money for the National Epilepsy Foundation," says Greg. "Having bandmates who also happen to be in some of the most popular shows on television creates an amazing opportunity to really reach out to our fans to help support these wonderful causes."
Hugh supports Save the Children, James works with The Conservation Fund, Bob supports The Art of Elysium and Bonnie supports the Child Abuse Prevention Program and the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
