Only three weeks after surviving a Learjet plane crash that killed four in South Carolina, rocker Travis Barker has posted a MySpace blog, writing about his recovery and posting photos of himself in a hospital bed.

"Like the doctors said from the beginning, it's been a slow recovery process. I am coming up on the 7th of my surgeries Monday," Barker writes. "Today I finally was able to move all my fingers on my right hand. Every step seems huge at this point, and I'm doing EVERYTHING I can possibly do to get back to my kids. Yes, I did start eating meat again, but if it helps me to be home holding my little humans sooner, then its all worth it."

The drummer is now being treated at a Los Angeles burn hospital after his release from a Georgia hospital. In the blog, Barker also thanks his fans and supporters and expresses sadness over the losses of his assistant, Chris Baker, and his security guard, Charles Still, who both passed away as a result of the crash. "First and foremost, Chris and Che were my friends. I would give up anything to have them here with us today, healthy and happy."

He writes that he was able to see Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein, who performed in South Carolina with Barker and was also injured in the crash. "I got to see AM the other day. Seeing him after he was discharged was an inspiration. … I am so happy to see him doing well, and we are both so lucky and grateful that we are alive today."

Barker personally thanks numerous hospital employees who have cared for him, and says that he's been very well taken care of. He writes that he is excited to leave, however: "Now I'm just counting down the days until I can leave. I can't wait to get home to play drums with my son, and go for bike rides with my daughter." He notes that he's sad to have missed his son, Landon's birthday party, but writes, "I am bummed that I couldn't be there, but thank God Ill be around to see many, many more."
