The deejay says he "jumped through a fireball."

DJ AM, real name Adam Goldstein, is recounting just how he and Travis Barker escaped the fiery plane wreck that killed four other passengers.

Goldstein tells People magazine that after Barker wrenched open the emergency exit, ""I tried to cover my face as I jumped through a fireball. As soon as I hit the ground, I remembered, 'Stop, drop and roll.' So I started rolling."

The mag says Goldstein is recovering from the last of three surgeries he underwent to treat the burns he sustained in the blaze.

"My emotions go back and forth," he says. "I can't believe I made it. I'm just grateful."
