Did things get ugly with Betty?

Lindsay Lohan's time on "Ugly Betty" has been cut short from six episodes to just four. According to a report in Page Six, an on-set rivalry with America Ferrera may have been to blame.

Page Six says a production source gabbed about the whole ordeal, blaming diva-like behavior. "It was a mess," the source is quoted as saying. "Lindsay would show up every day with an entourage of people ... and refused to go on set until America was there -- it was a power play."

However, someone on team Lohan told the paper: "America was mean to Lindsay. Producers give her too much power. Lindsay didn't do the last two episodes because America didn't like her and got her kicked off."

Reps for both stars commented, saying, "America is grateful to have had [Lindsay] on the show and thinks everyone should tune in to see how great the episodes are."

Lohan's rep said, "Lindsay was scheduled for six episodes and is appearing in four but had a lovely time."

"Lindsay wrapped up her arc and she's done filming," the show's producers confirm to ET. "She did a great job and we enjoyed having her. Viewers can look forward to her episodes tonight and next week."
