The day after Election '08, Hollywood celebs joined New York's elite for a very special evening benefiting the Michael J. Fox Foundation. The former "Spin City" star Michael J. Fox and his wife Tracy Pollan, along with Rachael Ray, Derek Jeter, Elizabeth Berkley, Martin Scorsese and newlyweds Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson, gathered together for a night of music and comedy in NYC!
The stars came together at the Sheraton New York Hotel's Metropolitan Ballroom for "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson's" a charitable event featuring a rousing musical performance by The Who.
Doctors first diagnosed Michael -- best known as the lovable Republican, Alex P. Keaton, on "Family Ties" -- in 1991 with Parkinson's disease, a brain disorder that attacks the central nervous system and impairs motor skills, speech and other functions, according to the National Parkinson Foundation. For over a decade, The Michael J. Fox Foundation has been researching in order to ensure the development to improve therapies for those living with the disease today.
