Rock icon Bruce Springsteen is appearing in a new ad for the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, asking for the public's assistance in making sure the food pantry's shelves are stocked.

In the ad, the organization stresses that in today's difficult economic times, many families have to choose between purchasing food, or paying for rent, utilities and medicine. Oftentimes, according to the ad, food goes by the wayside.
