The body of a 30-year-old woman was found in a parked car near the home of Paula Abdul on Tuesday.

According to Paula's rep Jeff Ballard, Paula is "shocked and saddened" by the turn of events. She and her team have been aware of the woman for "several years" who "has issues."

The woman's car was found after 6 p.m. on Tuesday after the Los Angeles Police Department received a call. Police say the cause of death may have been an overdose in an apparent suicide.

The "American Idol" judge was not home at the time as she was out all day working on the show. She returned late in the evening after the scene had cleared.
