Update: Police tell ET that they had been aware of incidents involving Paula Goodspeed related to Paula Abdul for some time before Goodspeed's death.

Police say that there was an incident that occurred in July that they responded to -- Goodspeed, who had once auditioned for "American Idol," was found unconscious in her car, near Abdul's home, after taking numerous pills.

Incidents with Paula Goodspeed started several years ago at one of Paula's previous residences, police say.
