The highly anticipated vampire romance 'Twilight' soared at the box office with $70.6 million during its weekend debut, studio estimates showed Sunday.

The Summit Entertainment film -- about a teenage girl (Kristen Stewart) who risks everything when she falls in love with a handsome and mysterious vampire (Robert Pattinson) -- knocked the latest 007 flick 'Quantum of Solace' out of first place to No.2.

Sony's 'Quantum of Solace,' starring Daniel Craig as James Bond, took in an estimated $27.4 million this weekend, following a huge $70.4 million opening one week ago.

Disney's animated feature 'Bolt' made $27 million in its weekend debut, studio estimates showed. The film, which uses the voices of John Travolta and Miles Cyrus, tells the story of canine star of a fictional sci-fi/action show who believes his powers are real.

DreamWorks' animated sequel 'Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa' finshed in fourth place with an estimated $16 million.
