Tom Cruise and Matt Lauer played up their "rematch" on the "Today" show, playfully arm wrestling during a tease for his impending interview. Tom spoke of his last encounter on the show three years ago, during which he famously called Matt "glib."
The interview, which touched on Scientology, Brooke Shields' post-partum depression and psychiatry stirred up controversy for the actor, who now says that looking back he "came across arrogant."
"After looking at it, it's not what I had intended," Tom said. "That's one of those things that you go, 'I could have handled that better.' I didn't communicate it the way that I wanted to communicate it. That's not who I am.
"I learned a good lesson," he added.
Tom is hitting up the airwaves to promote his Christmas release 'Valkyrie,' speaking to ET prior to his "Today" interview. Watch our video to see Tom open up to our Kevin Frazier about his fashionista daughter Suri and the headlines about his family that he "never saw coming."
