It is no secret that Jason Mesnick found love on the new season of "The Bachelor." He has already revealed that he is engaged. The question remains: Who is the lucky girl?

"I have to say she is amazing. I can't say anything else," he told reporters in a phone conversation about the new season. And when asked why he revealed that he was in love before the series even began airing, he says, "In my opinion, how could I hold something like that back when I am as happy as I am and as transparent as I am? I wanted everybody to know it."

This season Jason will face a choice not presented to previous "The Bachelor" candidates. Several of the women who are competing for his hand in marriage are single mothers.

"It doesn't make a difference," says the divorced father of three-year-old Tyler. "I hope people view me as a person, not a single dad."

Tyler plays a very small part in the upcoming season of "The Bachelor," and Jason says he was careful about which of the ladies had the opportunity to meet him.

"I would never introduce someone to my son that I knew in my heart wouldn't be great for him," he says.

As for why Jason was willing to risk his heart when it had been broken by "The Bachelorette"'s DeAnna Pappas, he says, "It was a real love experience for me. I knew I fell in love with DeAnna and I knew it was possible."

As for DeAnna's breakup with her chosen bachelor Jesse Csincsak, he comments, "I thought they were going to make it. I saw them afterwards and it made me feel good to see how in love they were. So when I heard they were done, I was shocked and sad for both of them, because I know they wanted it to work."

"The Bachelor" returns to ABC on Monday, January 5 at 8 p.m.
