The New York Police Department may be calling for backup at the New Year's Eve performance by Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas.

The Jonas Brothers are performing in Times Square for "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest" and NYPD sources say it could result in a "mob scene," according to People magazine.

"So they're now planning on using extra [security] men for support," a source tells People. "It's going to be crazy because everyone will be in Times Square to watch them perform on the show."

Police officials expressed their apprehension over the performance in a recent meeting with the producers of the show.
