After having a stroke four years ago, TV icon Dick Clark tells ET about his excitement to be back at Times Square for another New Years Eve special on ABC. And host Ryan Seacrest weighs in on having Clark on the big show this year!

Clark, 79, tells ET his scheduled appearance on the "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2009" is something he looks forward to and "not a job."

"I am one of the fortunate ones who survived and have been minimally impaired, so I'm just thankful I'm still able to enjoy this once-a-year treat of bringing in the New Year," Clark says about surviving a stroke.

"Obviously, I'm not able to be as actively involved as I used to be out on the street, up on a platform and interacting with the crowds in Times Square," Clark tells ET. "Thank goodness my friend Ryan Seacrest is able to handle that end of the activity on the show these days."

In an interview with ET Tuesday, Seacrest shared his excitement about Clark's participation in the show.

"He's doing great," Seacrest says. "He's here in New York City. He really looks forward to this night - it's a special night. He's built this evening in Times Square, so we're excited to have him back."

ABC's New Year's bash will be also be hosted by Fergie, while singer Kellie Pickler helps out as a correspondent. The show includes live performances by pop trio Jonas Brothers and country singer Taylor Swift. Other performers slated to rock out for the big show are Fall Out Boy, Natasha Bedingfield, and the Pussycat Dolls.
