Television sports commentator and former NBA star Charles Barkley is speaking out about his DUI arrest as new details emerge from the police report regarding an unidentified woman.

Barkley told police in Scottsdale, Arizona he ran a stop sign to pick up a woman, according to a new report in the New York Post detailing the police report. Barkley was initially pulled over for running the traffic sign in a move that led to his DUI bust early Wednesday.

A handgun was also found in Barkley's car, but he is not facing any gun-related charges, according to the report.

Barkley released the statement, "I am disappointed that I put myself in this situation. The Scottsdale Police were fantastic. Now it is a legal matter and I will not comment further until it is resolved," says the report.
