Actor Rip Torn pleaded not guilty to two charges stemming from an arrest last month.
The 77-year-old co-star of the NBC hit comedy "30 Rock" pleaded not guilty to illegal operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane, Connecticut's Bantam Superior Court confirmed to ET.
Police said officers observed Torn driving his 1994 Subaru in the breakdown lane with a Christmas tree tied to the top during the Dec. 14 incident in Salisbury, CT.
According to state police officers, Torn allegedly failed part of a field sobriety exam, then gave up after saying the ground wasn't level enough. He also refused to take a breathalyzer test and used profanity while in the trooper's cruiser, the officers said.
In April 2007, Torn agreed to pay a $380 fine and give up his license for 90 days after pleading guilty to driving while impaired in an area about 60 miles north of New York City.
