The trade reports that Halle will star in 'Who Is Doris Payne,' based on a real life international jewel thief whose career spanned five decades.

The real Doris Payne is a true-life career criminal, who would dress up in fancy clothes and steal high-priced jewelry in broad daylight while stores were open. Her elegant appearance served as a disguise, allowing her to pluck items right from under the clerk's nose. Her last brush with the law was in 2005, when she was 75, after she stole a $36,000 diamond ring from Neiman Marcus.
