Katie Holmes will take center stage during a special concert in Washington D.C.
Holmes and actress Dianne Wiest will read a veteran's personal story at the annual Memorial Day concert, says the Associated Press. Readings at past concerts have been based on letters that veterans' sent home.
Actors Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna will host the concert, which will also feature appearances from "CSI"'s Laurence Fishburne and "Idol"'s Katharine McPhee.
