ET has your first look at TIME magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World.

The list includes TV and radio personalities, celebrities and political figures such as Barack and Michelle Obama, Sarah Palin, Bernie Madoff, George Clooney, Rush Limbaugh, Timothy Geitner, Zac Efron, the founders of Twitter, the ladies of "The View" and more.

"The TIME 100 is not a list of the most powerful people in the world, managing editor Rick Stengel says. "It's not a list of the smartest people in the world, it's a list of the most influential people in the world. They're scientists, they're thinkers, they're philosophers, they're leaders, they're icons, they're artists, they're visionaries. People who are using their ideas, their visions, their actions to transform the world and have an effect on a multitude of people."

In the issue, on sale this Friday, TIME has selected notable guest contributors to write on the influentials, such as Oprah Winfrey on Michelle Obama: "How sweet it is that America has a First Lady who embodies the vibrancy and confidence of a seriously prepared 21st century woman. A phenomenal woman indeed."
