ET's Thea Andrews is with Ryan Reynolds at a special screening for male assistant only of his new comedy 'The Proposal.' The star opens up about playing an assistant to co-star Sandra Bullock and the news of an 'X-Men' spinoff based on his character Deadpool.
"I'd by lying if I didn't say I was hoping that that would come of this film," Ryan says about the 'Deadpool' movie. "It's somebody I've wanted to play my whole adult life so it's sort of a dream come true."
So how did Ryan receive the good news about the spinoff?
"I read it online like everybody else," he says. "I just woke up and it was the headline everywhere. It was a very strange way to learn something."
In 'The Proposal' Ryan plays Andrew, a male assistant who is forced to marry his pushy boss (Bullock), in order for her to keep her visa to stay in the U.S.
Watch the video to hear what Ryan tells ET about taking orders from his female co-star and to see him get buddy-buddy with the assistants, who enjoyed dinner at Ummba Grill in Century City, CA before the big screening.
'The Proposal' is set to hit theaters June 19.
