Actress Lindsay Lohan has reportedly landed a role in an indie fantasy film -- this being one of her first feature roles since her 2007 movie 'I Know Who Killed Me.'

Lindsay will join the likes of Woody Harrelson, Giovanni Ribisi, Dave Matthews and Alanis Morissette for the film 'The Other Side,' Variety reports.

The director of the movie, David Michaels, defended his decision to cast Lindsay after the many reports of her demonstrating unprofessional behavior. "Lindsay's very aware of people's perceptions of her," David told Variety. "She's really committed to doing what she has to in order to change that."

The story follows a grad student who spends the summer on an isolated island working at a scientific institute. While on the island, the grad student comes in contact with a community of people who are covering up a secret about a tragedy that happened years prior.

The film is scheduled to begin shooting in October on an island off the coast of Manhattan, the trade magazine reports.
