The Actors Hot List ranks Hollywood actors based on their star power -- and ET sat down with founder and publisher James Ulmer to find out which stars topped the list!

The Actors Hot List is determined by the Ulmer Scale which uses a numerical standardized survey and rating system based on poll results to score each actor's star power or bankability.

James explains to ET how Will Smith earned the top spot on the list.

"I am so happy that Will Smith is the number one actor in the world," James says. It vindicates all of the old fashioned values of good guy, smart guy, deserves his success. He is just one of those guys that's a class act and even ups the games of other actors when he's on the set.
