Nia Vardalos is back in Greece for her new romantic comedy 'My Life in Ruins,' in theaters June 5, and this time the star of the sleeper hit 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' is sharing home movies with ET!

"The most amazing thing about this shoot is that I kept realizing this is not a Hollywood set -- we're here, we're actually here," says Nia of shooting at such legendary locations as the Acropolis.

Nia gets back to her roots in her new comedy, playing a tour guide in Greece looking for love and a new lease on life. The film is executive produced by Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, who also produced 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding.' But Nia took it upon herself to get permission to film at the Acropolis, which almost never happens.

"I just showed them the script and kind of begged," says Nia, joking, "I showed them my body hair to prove I was Greek."

Being a major star in Greece definitely helped the process. At the Athens premiere of the film -- with 1,700 people on hand -- she was named as a cultural ambassador for the country.
