ET rocked with the stars at the 2009 Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony and gala in NYC on Thursday night.
"Music begins with a song," country star Clint Black tells ET. "One of the great things that I love about this process of honoring songwriters is that we're reminded of all the great songs they gave us."
Jon Bon Jovi and his songwriting partner, guitarist Richie Sambora, were inducted into the hall, along with Crosby, Stills & Nash and other acclaimed musical acts.
"It's an honor to be here," Richie Sambora tells ET. "Songwriting is the foundation of our business. To be honored by your peers, this is almost like the Oscars of songwriting, or the Screen Actor's Guild."
