The lawyer for the late Michael Jackson's family is speaking out to ET about today's court hearing.

"[Michael's mother, Katherine] Jackson's legal filings were to first, seek custody in the best interests of her grandchildren and second, prevent against granting the unfettered master keys to the kingdom of Michael Jackson's estate and legacy without approval, and prior to his burial," lawyer Londell McMillan tells ET in a statement. "Today, the Judge shifted temporary special administration to the proposed executors under the 2002 will filed with the Court until August 3rd. Of importance, the Court ruled that business during this period should be conducted with Mrs. Jackson's involvement and that no binding agreements may be entered without her consultation and the approval of the Court."

Earlier today, a Los Angeles judge decided that Katherine would no longer act as the temporary administrator of her son's estate. The judge ruled that the co-executors of Michael Jackson's will, John Branca and John McClain, will be the special administrators of the King of Pop's estate.

Branca and McClain will have this title until August 3 when Katherine can challenge the decision.
