Last night's "Big Brother" premiere saw the return of a former houseguest in a surprise Head Of Household (HOH) competition!
After meeting the cast (see our gallery), the competition was quickly underway after everyone settled into their new home.
In a series first, the housemates were split into high school cliques; Athletes (Russell, Jeff and Natalie), Brains (Chima, Ronnie and Michelle), Popular (Laura, Jordan and Braden) and Offbeat (Casey, Kevin and Lydia) teams were formed.
It was then revealed that none of the players in the house yard would win HOH, which gives the player immunity from eviction and the power to nominate the two guests the remaining contestants must vote on to leave the house. Instead, in this round the entire winning team would receive immunity, while one mystery guest would be added to their gang and be awarded HOH.
Brian "the brain" from BB 10, "popular" Jessica from season 8; "offbeat Michael the cowboy from season 5; and bodybuilder Jessie represented the "athletes," who won the hanging "Wedgie challenge" -- where contestants were suspended in mid-air wearing a giant pair of underwear -- and welcomed the controversial player back into the game.
With his surprise entry into the game, the players took a break as the premiere came to a close. Now that Jessie is HOH, he and his team are safe -- but only for now. As is common in the game, the first HOH is usually a target for the other players to evict after they've taken the lead.
Next, two players will be up for eviction, with one leaving the house as the competition kicks into high gear. "Big Brother" airs on CBS Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, Thursdays & Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
