'Knocked Up' and 'Funny People' star Seth Rogen is getting serious for his next role, and ET has a first look at Comic-Con as he talks about his crimefighting alter ego, 'The Green Hornet' -- and unveils the Black Beauty!

"We really just wanted to make an original movie and we built on it where we saw it necessary," says Seth.

Filming this fall for a summer 2010 release, Rogen will play millionaire publisher-turned-masked crime fighter Brit Reid, who battles baddies with his cool, machine-gun/flamethrower/missile-equipped car, the Black Beauty, along with his sidekick, Kato. The film will be directed by Michel Gondry ('Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind') with a script written by Rogen and Evan Goldberg ('Superbad,' 'Pineapple Express'), based upon the classic radio series created by George W. Trendle.

"It originally was about a guy who owns a newspaper and he gets a sidekick and they go and start fighting crime," says Seth. "Our version is heavily based on that, but we kind of explore the relationships a little more, and we've kind of re-imagined how the Green Hornet comes into being, specifically. But I think it follows pretty similarly to the general plot of the original TV series."

The Green Hornet character originated as a radio serial, running from 1936 to 1952, and found popularity in a comic book and classic '60s TV series as well. On the show, Reid was played by Van Williams, while Kato was played by Bruce Lee.
